Bimetal Bushings (JF / Steel-Backed Bronze Style)

White-background catalog illustration — placeholder, not a factory photo of specific inventory.

Bimetal bushings (JF style) combine a steel backing with a bronze bearing lining. They are meant for conventionally lubricated joints — oil or grease — in machinery and equipment, not as a dry-running substitute. Clear naming helps purchasing match the drawing (bimetal vs PTFE or graphite-plugged).

When to use

  • Oil- or grease-lubricated plain bearings
  • Equipment joints with a defined lube path or grease point
  • Steel-backed sleeves where bronze lining is specified
  • Replacement of JF-style / steel-backed bronze positions

Not the first pick when: maintenance-free dry running is the goal — look at graphite-plugged or PTFE-lined instead.

Forms available

  • Cylindrical (sleeve) bushings
  • Flanged bushings
  • JF-style reference sizes on request

Materials

Steel-backed bronze lining (leaded grades available where specified). Confirm alloy on RFQ.

Typical duty

Lubricated joints in construction and industrial equipment; hydraulic-related sliding positions specified as bimetal; OEM / MRO replacements for steel-backed bronze bushings.

Operating envelope (qualitative)

Requires oil or grease · load and speed per lining grade and lubrication quality. Limits from factory data on request.
